FAQ
Where is your office?
7137 Colleyville Blvd.Suite 101Colleyville, Texas 76034
My office is in Colleyville, just a couple of blocks away from both Southlake and Grapevine city limits in Longwood Office Park.
We have a second home in Venice, FL where my husband grew up. I’ve spent time in Venice every year for the past 38 years. I’ve seen the growth and changes, including the recent hurricane devastation. This is why I’m proud to now offer online services in Florida.
Are there forms to complete online?
No, my forms are very, very simple. When you get to my office, you can grab the clipboard with the blue business card and fill out the forms. It won’t take you more than 10 minutes.
Do you take insurance?
I do not. Insurance typically doesn’t cover couples work and requires me to give someone a mental illness diagnosis. This is usually not a good thing in couples work. I can provide a receipt for you to file for reimbursement if you have that benefit.
Are your services confidential?
Absolutely, it’s one of the reasons I don’t accept insurance. Even if I see you around the community, no one will know you’ve seen me unless you tell them.
How long is a typical session?
I typically see individuals for 45-minute sessions, but if you need more time it’s available. Couples require more time to address the concerns of both partners. Couples sessions are 90 minutes long.
Do we have to be married to do couples work?
Not at all. I do premarital counseling and often work with couples who live together. It doesn’t take long living with someone to go into conflict phase.
What are your hours?
I’m in the office on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 1pm to 9pm.
I will always do my best to accommodate you and make myself available for emergencies.
Do you offer phone or online sessions?
My preference is to see you in-person where there is more interpersonal energy when providing service in Texas. I do offer HIPPA compliant online sessions and phone sessions if you travel or are away and have the need. I also offer online sessions in Florida.
What is your cancellation policy?
It’s never a problem to reschedule your appointment as long as you do it the day before your session. If you cancel the day of, you will be charged the full fee, unless you had an emergency beyond your control. I would never charge for an illness, a car wreck, etc.
What if I’m late?
Instead of starting your session at the top of the hour, your session is scheduled to start 15 minutes after the hour. For example, instead of 2:00, we start at 2:15.
If you’re late, I will still see you for the time you have left, but you will be billed for the full session.
What are your fees?
My fees are on a sliding scale based on your income. In your first discussion with me, we’ll discuss fees so you will know what to expect when you come in.
Do you treat children?
My philosophy is that parents have the power and the hours to get their children through anything. I prefer to help parents get on the same page and come up with a strategy to address their child’s issues, particularly regarding co-parenting.
If I feel like the child really needs to come in, I will bring them in usually after having conversations with the parents first.
